In-Home Support Services

Catholic Charities has been providing In-Home Support Services in Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties to the frail older adults and adults with disabilities for over 25 years. Our services include light housekeeping, laundry assistance, companionship, meal preparation, grocery shopping and errands.  In-Home Support Services are now available in Racine County!

Service: In-Home Support Services provides supportive home care services to help individuals live independently in clean, safe homes or apartments in order to delay institutional placement. Program activities include:

  • In-Home social work assessments by trained staff at intake and semi-annually to gather detailed information about clients' physical health, emotional well-being, and social functioning to determine self-sufficiency and safety.

  • Information and referrals that connect clients with additional, appropriate services and resources provided by other Catholic Charities programs, government, local churches and
    other non-profits.

  • Direct service visits (minimum of 2 hours) to meet individualized clients' needs, for example: light housekeeping, laundry assistance, grocery shopping, meal preparation and companionship/socialization.

Participants Served: Frail older adults aged 50 or better and adults with disabilities.

Fees for Services: Services are provided through private pay, county public benefits based need for service and income eligibility, and reduced fee service agreements for those with financial need. In Home Support Services are provided in conjunction with Waukesha United Way and Greater Milwaukee United Way, the Catholic Stewardship Appeal and is also subsidized by agency donations.
