Pregnancy Support Coordination

Service: Pregnancy support coordination helps individuals develop tools for good decision making. Birth parents carefully explore all their options and make a thoughtful and appropriate plan for their baby, whether it be an adoption plan or a parenting plan.

Clients Served:  Pregnant women/birth parents.

Fees for Services: Pregnancy support coordination is provided at no charge to the client.

Service Area:  Throughout the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

Additional Information:

• Those involved in Pregnancy Support Coordination or PreNatal Care Coordination Services receive assistance in making many decisions and plans in such areas as parenting, work, housing and child care.
   
• Catholic Charities advocates for open adoption. Individuals receiving Pregnancy Support Coordination Services or PreNatal Care Coordination can choose the adoptive parents and develop with them a plan to implement their mutual decisions regarding their ongoing relationship.
   
• Those who choose adoption receive support and legal assistance through the process of termination of parental rights, infant foster care, and if they choose open adoption, in choosing, meeting and beginning a relationship with the adoptive parents and placing the baby with them. 
   
• Parents can also choose a closed adoption, meaning they will not have contact with the adoptive family or child after termination of parental rights. If parents still wish to choose an adoptive family but choose to have a closed adoption, they may do so. Otherwise, Child Welfare staff matches the child with an approved adoptive family.
